It is a trek within the Annapurna mountain range of central Nepal. The total length of the route varies according to where motor transportation is supposed to be used and where the trek is aimed to end. Surrounding the Annapurna Massif , two different river valleys are crossed in this trek . The Annapurna Massif , Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, Pisang Peak, Paungda Danda and other mountain peaks could be seen and observed. The highest point of the path is at Thorung La pass (5416m/17769 ft). Besisahar or Bhulbhule in the Marshyangdi river valley is the initial point of the trek which is gets to conclude in the Kali Gandaki Gorge. Besisahar is about seven-hour drive away from Kathmandu.
This trek usually takes about 15–20 days with itinerary prepared to leave from Kathmandu to checkpoint in Pokhara before returning. The trails include numerous river crossings over steel and wooden suspension bridges which add adventure feeling .
